Q: What inspired you to become a wedding planner?
A: While pursuing my degree in interior design, I started working at a DIY wood sign company, Board & Brush. It was there that I was introduced to the world of weddings. Almost every weekend, we hosted bachelorette parties, and I absolutely loved the atmosphere—brides celebrating with their closest friends, full of excitement for their big day. I knew then that I wanted to be part of the event industry, but I wasn’t sure how to incorporate my passion for interior design. That all changed in my senior year when I began working as a wedding coordinator. From the moment I stepped into that role and began helping couple’s envision their ideal layout and color palette, I knew wedding planning and coordination were what I was meant to do!

A: One of my favorite and most unique designs was for my brother-in-law’s rehearsal dinner. Designing for family added a whole new level of excitement—and nerves! They gave me a ton of creative freedom to bring their dream western-themed rehearsal to life. It was my first time working with such a bold and defined theme, incorporating plenty of cacti, cowboy hats, and rustic touches. Not only was I designing for a couple I love, but I was also presenting my work in person to my in-laws, which made it even more meaningful. Seeing their joy and excitement made all the hard work worth it!
Q: What tips do you have for couples trying to stick to a budget without compromising their vision?
A: Hire a planner! It might seem counterintuitive to add another vendor when you’re trying to save money, but having a professional by your side can actually help you stay on budget. We have extensive vendor connections across different price ranges and know all the best ways to maximize your budget without sacrificing style. A: I love finding creative ways to weave a couple’s story into their wedding day. It’s all about those little details that make your celebration feel authentically you. Whether it’s subtle nods to your relationship or big, bold statements, I’m here to make sure your wedding reflects who you are as a couple.
Q: What advice would you give to couples who are planning their wedding in 2025/26?
A: Start early and focus on what truly matters to you. The wedding industry is always evolving, and with demand for venues and vendors increasing, securing your key details early will save you stress down the road. Prioritize the elements that mean the most—whether it’s a dream venue, a killer photographer, or a specific floral vision—and allocate your budget accordingly. Also, don’t be afraid to embrace non-traditional elements! More and more couples are opting for unique timelines, interactive guest experiences, and bold design choices.
