Shades of blue. Delicate hydrangeas. Luxurious velvet textures.
These small details created a captivating backdrop for Kendall and Cole’s sophisticated winter wedding at 14TENN.
But it was the orchids that were most important. The flower detail was a heartfelt nod by the couple to Kendall’s late mother.
The ceremony was held at The Scarritt Bennett Center, followed by the grand reception unfolded at 14TENN. Every aspect of the event, from the table arrangements to the dance floor, reflected an elegant winter theme adorned with exquisite floral details.
This thoughtful gesture added an extra layer of significance to the already wonderful and emotional elements of the celebration.
Kendall and Cole met when they were working for a public accounting firm. They worked at branches in different states, but met when Cole was assigned to assist on one of Kendall’s audit clients.
Fast forward to their engagement — Kendall’s sister was in town visiting, and the whole family was meeting at their parent’s house for dinner. When Kendall walked in, she was surprised with candles and rose petals everywhere, and her four best friends!
Kendall envisioned an elegant garden party with a twist of winter, including a blue palette and “dripping” hydrangeas. Her florist, Veraflora definitely understood the assignment!
A variety of textures and decor pieces such as a blue and white dance floor and pops of greenery along 14TENN’s white beams brought the design together and created the black tie atmosphere Kendall had always dreamt of.
The most important aspects of the event to Kendall were the photography, videography, band, and florals. She wanted the best forever memories (photos and videos) to remember the day — which her photographer, Hannah B Miller, certainly provided!
Another important detail was that her and Cole’s beloved dog, Gunner, was able to take part in their day. Wagnolia Bells brought Gunner to and from Scarritt Bennett Center for photos prior to the ceremony. 14TENN is pet-friendly, as well!
Kendall honored her late mother in many ways with the help of her wedding planner, Becky. Each bridesmaid carried an orchid down the aisle in addition to their bouquets. Individual orchids were placed in a vase in the front pew of the church to represent where she would have been seated.
A moment of silence during the ceremony, along with a photo of her mother on the welcome table at the reception were other details that helped Kendall feel her mother’s presence on the special day.
During the reception, 14TENN Beverage created specialty drinks that were available both at the bar, as well as tray-passed throughout cocktail hour. Dinner was a choice of three meat entrees, plus a vegetarian option catered by South Fork Catering Co.
Kendall had an epic reception dress that was full of sparkle and matched her wedding aesthetic perfectly!
At the end of the evening, Kendall and Cole’s grand exit was surrounded by sparklers, and they drove off in a vintage Volkswagen Beetle — in, you guessed it — a matching shade of blue.
