Kelsey and Matthew hosted their dreamy Fall ‘DIY’ wedding at 14TENN, along with the help of 14TENN Planning.
The couple met after both moving to Nashville for work. Kelsey is originally from Denver, and Matthew’s family is from Chicago.
They chose 14TENN for their wedding venue because of the open concept and blank-canvas vibe that allowed Kelsey to really make the space her own. Kelsey is very into design, and loved that she could bring her “Chicago” theme wedding vision to life, here!
Their backgrounds are Irish and Italian, so she wanted a timeless feel with black and white decor in order to create a classy and sophisticated ambiance.
Most aspects of the wedding were done or purchased by the couple themselves. The bride purchased all of the linens, decor, and table settings, including disposable table settings that were tasteful and fit her vision. The couple also incorporated 14TENN’s in-house draping, photo booth, and greenery walls as a photo backdrop.
All of the florals were bought in bulk from Trader Joe’s, and arranged by 14TENN Planner, Kendall.
Kelsey primarily wanted her friends and family to see her and Matthew’s personalities shine through their wedding, which she accomplished through her careful selection of decor.
Signature drinks served by 14TENN Beverage were classics themed around Nashville, and the couple had the honor of pouring their own champagne tower!
The biggest hit was definitely the cowboy hat that served as their guest book. All of their guests signed a white cowboy hat for the couple to save as a keepsake of their big day, which also tied into the Nashville setting!
Kendall’s favorite part as their planner was getting to see Kelsey’s “reception chop,” where she cut her hair halfway through the reception! “This is a trend I’ve seen on social media, but it was super cool to see one of my brides do this!”
Kelsey, Matthew, and all of their guests danced the night away, and enjoyed a late night snack from Momma Joy Hot Chicken!
