Marisa & Mike’s Timeless Nashville Wedding at 14TENN

September 6, 2024

Marisa and Mike’s wedding at 14TENN was a beautiful blend of tradition, personal touches, and heartfelt moments that made their day truly unforgettable.

With Mike serving in the military and stationed out of state during most of their engagement, Marisa took the reins on planning, working closely with Kendall from 828 Planning, 14TENN’s in-house planning team. The result was a stunning celebration that reflected the couple’s love story and their unique journey to the altar.

A Perfect Partnership: Planning with 828

Opting for 828 Planning’s Partial Planning package, Marisa found a true partner in Kendall. From the beginning, the two shared a vision for a timeless black and white wedding that would feel both elegant and personal. Their collaboration resulted in a day that exceeded the couple’s dreams.

Stunning Décor: Bringing the Vision to Life

The décor at 14TENN was nothing short of breathtaking. Cocktail hour was held outside on this beautiful Spring day. Using our venue’s in-house hedge walls as a photo booth backdrop, 828 Planning created a lush, green space that quickly became a favorite spot for guests to snap memories.

The head table was adorned with draping and twinkling LED lights, providing a romantic and magical ambiance that perfectly complemented the evening. The classic black and white color theme was woven throughout the décor, adding a touch of sophistication to every corner of the venue.

A Day of Unique Touches and Special Moments

One of the standout features of Marisa and Mike’s wedding was a unique military tribute. Mike and his groomsmen wore their uniforms for the ceremony held at The Cathedral of the Incarnation, honoring his service and adding a special significance to the day.

Later, they changed into suits for the reception, allowing Mike a rare opportunity for an outfit change—something not often seen in weddings but that added a fun and memorable twist to their celebration.

For Marisa and Mike, the most important aspect of their wedding was bringing together all of their loved ones. With family and friends spread across the country, they rarely had the chance to gather everyone in one place. This made their wedding day even more special, as it became a reunion of sorts, filled with joy, love, and cherished moments with those closest to them.

Unforgettable Guest Experiences

Their guests were treated to an unforgettable experience, with the biggest hit of the night being the giant inflatable igloo from Vlanca House. This unique and playful addition served as both a fun hangout spot and a photo opportunity, with the resulting pictures being some of the most talked-about memories from the night.

Another beloved element was the couple’s dog, Ellie, who not only attended the reception but was celebrated in style with a specialty drink named after her and custom napkins featuring her likeness. Ellie’s presence added a personal and heartwarming touch that everyone enjoyed.

Finally, in Southern tradition, the couple brought in a groom’s cake with the UT logo, honoring his alma mater.

A Planner’s Favorite: A Friendship Formed

As the planner, Kendall’s favorite part of the journey was the friendship that blossomed with Marisa throughout the process. Planning alongside her, seeing their vision come to life, and sharing in the excitement made the experience deeply rewarding. Even after the wedding, the connection remained strong, with Marisa keeping Kendall updated on her new adventures, including her move to Colorado to join Mike.

Marisa and Mike’s wedding at 14TENN was a perfect blend of elegance, personal touches, and joyful celebrations. With a close-knit planning process, stunning décor, and unforgettable moments, their day was truly a reflection of their love and commitment to each other.

We’re honored to have been a part of their journey and wish them all the happiness in their new life together!
